Hooray! I was concerned that the movie would leave out HUGE chunks of the final book, but it looks like they've found a way to keep the movies fairly close to the book!

Harry Potter book seven release
Jul. 21st, 2007 12:31 amI've got my book! I was originally going to go down to Jacksonville this weekend and have a HP weekend with Angie, but I still feel sick so instead, I stayed home and went to our local Kroger at 11:40 p.m. I was 20th in line and the line grew to about 50 before midnight rolled around.
They opened up the boxes at 12:03 a.m. and I got my book in hand at 12:04 a.m. I also scored one of the boxes that the books were in (I have a box from book 6 release and I keep my wedding momentos in it, so I was wanting a book 7 box, too). After waiting in line for ten minutes, it was determined that our checkout line was broken and we all moved to another line. I was out the door and calling my brother to gloat at 12:17 a.m.
He called me back a few minutes after I left a message on his machine saying that they were 9th in line and the time stamp on his receipt from Borders in Snellville says 0:03 a.m. AWESOME.
Now it's 12:30, I'm home, and I'm going to sit down and read a damn fine book.

Jul. 17th, 2007 06:17 pmIn order to prevent myself from reading HP7 spoilers, I've turned my LJ to friends-only commenting for the next week. I've also pre-emptively banned a list of users that are known to be going around spoiling the book ending. I've also banned them from the two communities I moderate. My internet access will be limited to websites I know I can trust not to spoil the ending. If you, dear friend's list, post a spoiler, PLEASE put it behind a cut. If someone comments in your LJ and tells you what happens in the book, please delete/screen the comment so I don't accidentally read it.

Nov. 18th, 2005 04:15 amHarry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was amazing! I'll post about it tomorrow (under a cut, of course!), but for now, I need sleep. I have to wake up in less than four hours for German.

Bats, Raccoons, and HP, Oh My!
Oct. 26th, 2005 12:24 am1. The bat talk was great. It was super-easy to talk to these people and they had lots of interesting (and easily answered!) questions. So yea!
2. I'm at my parent's house for the evening and I heard a thump outside on the deck. There were two raccoons out there! I'd like to think they're John and Yoko, two raccoons I rehabbed a few years ago and released on the farm.
3. WE HAVE OUR HARRY POTTER TICKETS! Parker, Eric, Sarah, Amy and I will be seeing HP4 at midnight on Nov. 18th. I'm so excited, I don't think I can sleep!
