The RNC wants mah money!

Every six months or so, my parents get a survey to fill out from the Republican National Convention. My parents aren't Republicans- in fact, they're quite the opposite. But, because they live in white, middle-class suburbia, they get this survey to fill out. We take turns filling it out.
This time, it was my turn. :-)
I answered "Yes" on a couple of questions just to throw them off. And then when I got to the back, I decided to stop pretending to be a Republican and let them know how I *really* feel.

Although the envelope has "No postage necessary if mailed in the United States" stamp, the envelope also mentions that "By using your own first class stamp to return this envelope, you will be helping us save much needed funds."
I will NOT be using my own stamp. In fact, I'm trying to find any small metal washers we may have lying around that would contribute to the weight, thus making the RNC pay more for my survey. :-)

Date: 2008-05-24 12:09 am (UTC)I can't believe those are real questions, when I read it before coming to your LJ, I thought someone was making them up. Ugh! That people believe that stuff!
What you should to is cut open the envelope and wrap it around a brick, adding more paper where needed. So long as the 'No postage necessary if mailed in the United States' part shows, they'll have to pay postage on it.

Date: 2008-05-24 05:21 pm (UTC)I can't believe they're real questions, either. It's so absurd and biased that it's funny. I mean, I guess they can be biased- it *is* the Republican National Convention, after all. But it's amazing how the questions are so polarizing. lol
I LOVE your idea of the brick. My husband, however, doesn't think it's a great idea. Poo on him! :-)

Date: 2008-05-24 05:58 am (UTC)a) Yes, I'll join, and here is my moneeeeey!
b) Yes, I'll join, but I'm out of money at the moment, but I guess I'm supposed to pay you $11 anyway
c) No, I'm a loser who doesn't get to play in the sandbox.
It would be funny to mark the Other amount and send them $3 in nickels. Not would that not cover the cost of tabulating your survey, but it would also make them pay extra for the postage!

Date: 2008-05-24 05:25 pm (UTC)See, I want to put washers or slugs (little metal coin-looking things) in there because that has the weight but it doesn't cost me as much as if I put pennies in there. I know we have a bunch of washers around here somewhere. lol
