Keep in mind that the last time we got snow in metro-Atlanta, I was a freshman in college. So this is a HUGE DEAL and OMG THE CITY HAS SHUT DOWN. A normally 20-minute drive on GA-400 shot up to 1 hour, 40 minutes this afternoon during rush hour. There were "major" and "moderate" accidents on every major highway in Atlanta. Needless to say, it was a good day to work late, even though I desperately wanted to go play out in the snow.

When I left work at 8, there was still snow on the ground. Even in Buckhead, there was snow on everything except the roads! So cool! So I was very excited as I drove out of the city and up Ga 400 to where we live. There's snow here in our complex, too! It's everywhere! AHHH!

The bushes next to our apartment.

More bushes.

The grass! Look at all the snow!

An itty-bitty snowman someone made! :-)

The top of Jessie's truck bed cover.

There's about an inch of snow on the ground. It's not snowing anymore, just a "wintry mix" of sleet and rain. But I'm still excited. Depending upon the weather tomorrow morning and what the roads look like, I may or may not work from home. Because people here do NOT know how to drive in anything other than sun.

It is a cute snowman! I just wish it would last longer than a night- it was nearly all melted this morning.

As it should. :-) It was such a cute little guy. Of course, now it's nearly melted.

So that's why no one answered/returned my phone calls to the corporate office in Atlanta today . . . everyone must have left early to beat rush hour during the snow.

Great pictures - enjoy it while it lasts!!

lol, most likely, yeah. It was CRAZY around here yesterday because people don't know how to drive in the "bad" weather (ie, a little bit of snow and rain). Things seem to be back to normal this morning, though- it's still raining, but traffic is normal (if not light) and people are at work.

I'm almost without doubt working from home; driving through downtown Atlanta this evening was already terrible (it took me 45 minutes to get home). Doing it again tomorrow morning with the ice? Not likely. I can't imagine 400 will be a dream either.

There isn't any ice on the roads, at least not where we are. I just came in on 400 and it's pretty clear- it's raining, but that's it. Got here in about 25 minutes.

I don't think it got that deep where we are, although it did come down very well for awhile. Me and Wes went walking through the snow as it was falling. He thought I was being sort of silly (he's lived in Virginia the past few years!)

He just doesn't understand what a joy it is to have snow down here! When I woke up this morning to go to work, the snow was melting, so it didn't last very long. Blah.

And now it's snowing again, but it's 39 degrees so NOTHING'S sticking. Bleh.

When England gets even half an inch of snow the entire country grinds to a halt. No one knows what to do with it. People go into panic mode and start buying all the food in the supermarkets. It's manic and completely ridiculous. And yet, it happens near enough every year.

That's pretty much how it is around here, too. Everything Stops. lol

So why aren't you out panic-buying bread and milk and eggs and beer? :-P

I think it's more understandable where you are because you rarely get snow, but here it happens nearly every year! You'd think people would have figured out by now that this white stuff that will appear about January time. Tsk.

I don't buy into the panic. lol In actuality, I just didn't have a chance to run out and buy emergency, "hunker down" supplies- the snow came and went within 12 hours. lol

You have brains, that's what it is! You probably have emergency supplies all ready anyway.

Zach is jealous he didn't get to come with me and see snow at my mom's.... I'll have to show him.

<3 I miss you, my dear friend. :(

Aw, you should have taken him with you! Y'all don't get much snow very often either, do you?

I miss you too. Angie and I should take a road trip over to you one of these days.

I remember when I lived in Texas and Georgia and we would get not even an inch of snow, school would get cancelled. I loved it.

Then I moved here, and when we would get 6 inches, life went on.
It sucked.

That snowman is cute, haha.

Have fun playing!
