Finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I have the same reactions most of y'all have.

I blame the fact that I'm PMSing and still sick, but I was a sobbing mess when Hedwig died. I have a soft spot for animals (duh) and the way she died was just so sad... *sigh*

I also cried when pretty much anything sad happened or anyone died. I was sitting on the couch today reading while Dustin was playing a video game and he caught me as I was crying my eyes out when Dobby died. lol But now I treasure my giant 6 foot Dobby poster much more. I may have to get it from my bedroom in my parent's house and put it up in our apartment.

I always had a feeling that Snape would end up being good, and alas, he was.

I'm glad that the trio lived. I would have been very very sad if one of them didn't make it.

I HATED being pulled out of the action scenes to get other stories. This happened when Harry was looking at Snape's memories and when Harry was dying/dead and talking to Dumbledore. They were good scenes, but the whole time I was reading them I was thinking "Uh, Harry? Don't you have to be doing something that's kind of time-sensitive right now?"

The epilogue was soo cheesy. There could have been a different way to write it that wasn't so IN UR FACE FULL OF CHEESE but still gave across the same information about what happened to people. She left out what happened with a bunch of people, though- I want to hear about the rest of the Weasleys, who Draco married, and what they're all doing for a living now.

That's pretty much it. Those of you on my flist who have already read it seem to share my same thoughts about some of it, so I don't feel like repeating it all here. Although I do have to admit, the first thing I did after finishing the book was come on here and read everyone's commentary.

759 pages. I actually would have finished it yesterday but I was at my parent's house for most of the day yesterday, so I didn't get in a lot of reading time.

right :)

Next question, would you say she's left it open for yet another sequel, or did the book some closure to it?

i think there's closure. i mean...sure, you could do a sequel, but it'd be like continuing Return of the Jedi. everyone wants to know how many lovechildren Han Solo and Leia have, if C3PO continues his godship with the Ewoks, and if Luke ever grows some balls, but Darth Vader is dead. how can you do 3 movies with Darth Vader as the villain, 3 movies before that ABOUT said villain, and then continue? who the hell comes after Darth Vader?
