The following are several pictures, one set is of Kudzu, the kitten I raised over the summer (and kept when Dustin moved here since I can't keep cats in the dorms), and the other set of pictures is of the new kitten.

Kudzu:

Dustin's sister, Ashley, sent him some gorgeous flowers for his birthday last week. Immediately upon the flowers leaving the box, Kudzu jumped into it. We haven't had the heart to throw it away yet because she's still having so much fun with the box. :-)

And my favorite, where she was curled up inside the box, hiding. :-)

She also got to play with the strings of balloons. For a little bit.

This pic shows her colors beautifully:

And this is the new kitten. She doesn't have a name yet.

Playing with her new toy:

Looking to the door:

I promise she only looks like she's not having fun. She really is, though!

The end!

Ha ha. Great names!

My brother wanted to name our dog "Udo", because he was taking German at the time and he thought the name was cool. Of course, he also wanted to name the dog "Stay". :-)

lol. I knew you wouldn't let me down!

She's a girl, so I can't name her Jimmy Carter. That's be...unholy or something. Maybe Roselyn, though? ;-)

I can't wait to see you!

Aww, I remember when she was all little and ugly!!

As far as me getting a cat, I don't have as much money as I did during the summer when I was looking...so mayhap no kitty for a while. Though this semester I might be a little better off financially is this thing with my schedule and substitute teaching pans out...hm. And I still want one of these

Ooooh, bengals are so pretty. Very hard to come by, from what I've heard. They're a rare breed. Cats aren't too expensive, unless they get sick. My experience with the cats at my parent's house is that they get sick about once every 4 years. They just go to the vet once a year for vaccinations. *shrug* You need a pet. You had Andy from when you were little and you've grown up around them. You're destined to have a pet. It's in the cards. Or something.

Bradley reads my lj and he e-mailed me tonite saying, "Now you have two ugly kitties! Ugly Kitty and Fugly Kitty! :)". He's a meanie head.

We have two tortiose shell cats :) One with a fluffy tail and one is a bobtail :) Actually, the complete side view of Kudzu in the flower box looks a lot like one of our cats. *cute*

I've never had tortis before but I've fallen in love with them. The colors are just so pretty. :-)

I agree. Ours have distinct attitudes - very bitchy to the other cats .. although that happened after they had kittens - hopefull yours will remain nice.

It's weird how different breeds/colors tend to have different personalities. I've heard from several people that calicos aren't very people friendly and are loners. That exactly matches the calico at my parent's house. I just hope these kittens don't turn out like yours! :-)

Two tortis! Oh my! They are so pretty :)

I hate naming my animals. The only cat we had to name was Chevy and he was without a name for so long. The same with our first hamster...He was fuzzy for like 3 weeks!

Kudzu went without a name for several months. I got her from a vet's office who's only option was to either euthanize her or give her to me (they called me saying, "I know you're a wildlife rehabilitator, but..."). Of course I took her. At that point I only expected to raise her until she could be adopted and then find a home for her. When Dustin got a job up here two months after I got her, I begged him to keep the cat so I wouldn't have to give her up (we're not allowed cats in the dorms, and my parents didn't want another cat at home). So, we kept her. :-) And she finally got a name 4 months later. lol

It's so hard naming them. I want a name that matches her personality. I figured I'd make an lj poll so people could give me their suggestions, because I need them!

Gorgeous! Both of them! I can't wait 'til next year when my lease allows cats, a house without one drives me crazy.

P.S. - Haven't left you. Still check in from time to time. Sounds like the two of yous are doing well, gives me faith. I have a feeling my bridge is burned but that's life.

I've always had cats and I can't imagine my life without one. It'd just be so boring! And I'd have nothing to sit in my lap and pet (Dustin doesn't sit very still). ;-)

I was going to reply to your dear Dustin post but I really didn't know what to say. *hugs* I do hope things get better, and you can become friends again one day. It sucks to lose a boyfriend, but it sucks even more to lose a best friend.

Thank you! It took us a long time to think of a name for her. Dustin suggest Kudzu and I was against it for awhile since my aunt once had a dog name Kudzu, but I finally caved in. It just fits her so well.

I'd name her Snickers.
