Holy crap. Brookwood's marching band is planning on going to Hawaii over spring break this year.

*still wishes we could have gone to Australia for the Olympics*

well, buddy scott looked at his planner and thought "Where would I like to go for free?"
Less than 30 people are going to be able to go, if that. It's over 3000 per person. And it overrides Winterguard championships so no one on the winterguard will go.

Well, actually it's only $1,735.00, but that doesn't mean it's any more affordable for most folks. Plus it's only for a week, which amounts to about 5 days touring time considering flying out there and back. It's really not worth it for the price, but playing at Pearl Harbor would be kinda neat.

Pretty crappy that it's during winterguard championships, though. I will be interested to hear what the final count is for people going.

Speaking of the Olympics...within the last 4 years was there any sort of parade in Atlanta involving some local sportsman/celebrity/normal bloke running through the streets with an olympic touch?

Yeah. With the Olympics, now the torch goes through every city the Olympics was once held in before it makes it's way to the hosting city. So it came through Atlanta, then went to Australia, and then went back to Greece.

How do they ride in the plane with a torch burning?

They don't. They run across the oceans.

lol. Band just isn't for some people. I had a blast and met most of my friends through band. Three years after high school and we still hang out together when we're all home. :-)
