Last Friday, Dustin interviewed with Internet Security Systems (ISS) for a job back here in Atlanta. Yesterday, he got offered a job with ISS. It's not the position he interviewed for on Friday, but it's the position right below that one, as a Security 2 Analyst. There are advantages and disadvantages to his current job with Ciber at Ft. Campbell vs. the ISS job. Obviously, living in Atlanta would mean we're closer to both of our families and friends, although we decided that at this point, the main factor for the decision would be the job and whether it would be a career boost for Dustin. After we looked at it from every angle last night and after he discussed it with his boss this morning, Dustin has decided to resign from his postion with Ciber at Ft. Campbell and accept the position with ISS back here in Atlanta!

Starting May 15th, Dustin will start working for ISS near Sandy Springs. This gives him three weeks to train his replacements at Ft. Campbell. We've decided that it's impossible for us to move him down here any earlier, especially with my busy school schedule (you know, that whole graduating thing), so the current plan is that Dustin will pay for apartment rent in Tennessee through the month of May, which will give me some extra time after graduation to go up there, pack everything up, and for us to spend a weekend moving everything back here to Atlanta. Unfortunately, since he starts work in Atlanta so soon, it will be difficult for us to find him a place to rent starting May 15th. We'd love to rent a house, but we're not sure if we can afford it right now. We're hoping he can stay with my family for a few weeks until we find a place, though.

ISS is currently doing network security for the top Fortune 5 companies, along with many other prominant companies. They even have a wikipedia entry here.

He'll be doing similar stuff to what he's currently doing, although instead of handling network security and issues for the army, it'll be for many different large (Ford, GM, WalMart, Chevron, etc) companies.

I'm still in shock, quite honestly. Just this past weekend, we were arguing talking about how I was going to move up to Ft. Campbell in June and get a job up there so we could start working on paying off some of our debt and how I wouldn't be able to animal rehab this summer. And now suddenly, he's moving back to Atlanta again! It's been a roller coaster (I'm starting to feel a bit like [livejournal.com profile] twitterpatted, except I'm not pregnant!) of emotions, but I'm so excited that things are working us in the direction of Atlanta once again! I didn't want to tell anyone about the job interview because I was afraid to get my hopes up, so only [livejournal.com profile] chasingangie05, [livejournal.com profile] scottiegirlc, my parents and my uncle Larry knew about it. But now that the interview has happened and something great has come out of it, I can tell everyone! :-)

I'm so excited. I just can't hide it! ;-)
