I spent the long weekend up in Tennessee/Kentucky visiting Dustin. It was so nice to sleep in late and chill out. Granted, I ended up cleaning the entire apartment, doing 6 loads of laundry, grocery shopping, and lots of cooking, but still...it was a nice vacation. That boy cannot live like a bachelor. Or rather, he has bachelor life down to an art- he's a sterotypical messy male. I'm going to find a way to break him of that habit for when we get married. *shudder*

Anyhow, it was lots of fun and it was so nice to spend copious amounts of time with the boyfriend.

On Saturday, we decided we needed to go out and do something, so on a whim we drove to Illinois (an hour and a half away) and went to Harrah's casino. We had never gambled before, so we decided we might as well try it! We each got $20 to gamble (i.e., spend). Dustin lost all of his playing slot machines and video poker, and I lost nearly all of mine on the slot machines. There was one machine that I kept on winning on, but I made the mistake of leaving it and some old man stole my goodluck slot machine. So I had to settle for another one. *sigh* But it was good, because I was down to $13 and Dustin pressed the "maximum bet" button, and suddenly we won $52! Total, we left with $66.66 (yeah, kinda creepy), so we made out with $26.66 more than we went in there with. Score!

Since we were in the town of Metropolis, Illinois, we also found a 15-foot tall superman )

On Sunday, we didn't want to be in the apartment again, but we didn't want to spend money, either. So we went to Ft. Campbell and stalked played with groundhogs! There are a bunch of groundhogs that call Ft. Campbell "home", and we managed to spot at least 10 of them. We spent several hours driving around, trying to find more, and stalking the ones we had found. We probably had more fun than we ought to driving around and spotting new furry friends, but when you're together and broke, nothing's better than doing something for free! Besides, we had fun chasing after them and trying to lure them out of their holes. Does anyone happen to know what groudhogs eat? We need a plan for next time we go groundhog spotting.

Of course, no groundhog's life can be complete without a dictator name, so meet three of our new groundhog friends!

Meet our dictators! )

We also have Jeb and George (I didn't get pictures of them) and a couple other dictactors that I can't remember right now. We felt the names were appropriate given their residence on an army base. :-)

My fall break wasn't nearly long enough and I wish I was back with Dustin instead of holed up in my dorm room procrastinating, but I just have to keep looking forward to the next long weekend we'll spend together. A little over a month until Thanksgiving break!
