Wildlife calls today:

Call #1: 9:45 a.m.: A woman with a raccoon. Referred her to someone else.
Call #2: 10:15 a.m.: A man with a gray fox. Referred him to someone else.
Call #3: 10:35 a.m.: A woman with a baby bat. She had three on Saturday (when she found the bats), but decided not to call anyone until today, when two of the three had died. She's in Athens (about an hour drive from here). When I told her I wasn't interested in driving out to Athens to pick up the bat, but I'd be happy to meet her halfway, she said "Okay, let me mapquest directions and I'll call you right back".
She never called. I assume the bat is dead now. Nobody in the Athens area would take it, and I'm the closest rehabber to her.

Call #4: 3:00 p.m.: A woman with a baby bat. Success! We met 45 minutes later on 285, and now I'm the proud owner of my second baby bat this season. It's a girl, and she weighs 2.3 grams. Very tiny. Surprisingly, she's still alive and seems to be eating well. She's bonding with the male bat I got last Thursday.

Pictures of the babies tomorrow! I'm borrowing the brother's digital camera to take a few pics and post them here. And I'll also post a poll for name suggestions, because these two need names, yo.
