My lights won't turn off!
May. 18th, 2005 12:37 pmEeek. So my car started acting up yesterday. By "acting up", I mean the tail lights and the side headlights won't turn off. Even when the car is off and the key is out of the ignition. So my car is at Snellville Auto today being checked out. Man just called me with an estimate.
$426 to turn the freakin' lights off.
Yeah. Apparently the headlight switch (the phallic looking stick on the steering wheel, the same switch as my blinker) is screwed up and those lights are stuck in the "on" position. To get them to turn off, they have to dismantle the steering wheel column and replace the broken switch. The switch alone costs $177, according to AutoZone. Auto Man is calling around to junk yards to see if he can get it cheaper.
If Dustin thinks he can do it (yea for having a man who knows a lot about cars!) then I'll probably get him to fix it this weekend. Because my boyfriend is cheap labor. :-) And I'm a poor college student.
