All the people who are arguing that Terri shouldn't die of starvation should concentrate their efforts on the hundreds of thousands of people in third world countries that die *each day* of starvation. And yet, none of them seem to care that we're not helping out starving children in other countries, or even in America!
How many of those "right to live" people who are protesting and getting arrested trying to "feed" her water and bread volunteer in a homeless shelter, passing out food to other Americans who are starving to death? I bet VERY FEW of them do.
Let's think about this...let one *brain dead* woman "eat" for another 20 some-odd years, wasting away taxpayers money...or use the money and energy to feed thousands of starving children and adults who are alive (and can speak, what a novelty!) and can make a difference in this world?
I think America has our priorities a little screwed up.
EDIT: I looked up information on several reputible websites, and Terri's medical care is about $80,000/year. For the 15 years she's been brain dead, that is $1.2 MILLION that has been used to keep her "alive".
Some people in third world countries live in poverty for $1/day. For $2/day, they would have enough food to live. If Terri's family were to give $1.2 million in hunger aid to a third world country like Sierra Leone, that would feed 3,287 people (roughly) for a year.
