The RNC wants mah money!

Every six months or so, my parents get a survey to fill out from the Republican National Convention. My parents aren't Republicans- in fact, they're quite the opposite. But, because they live in white, middle-class suburbia, they get this survey to fill out. We take turns filling it out.

This time, it was my turn. :-)

I answered "Yes" on a couple of questions just to throw them off. And then when I got to the back, I decided to stop pretending to be a Republican and let them know how I *really* feel.

Although the envelope has "No postage necessary if mailed in the United States" stamp, the envelope also mentions that "By using your own first class stamp to return this envelope, you will be helping us save much needed funds."

I will NOT be using my own stamp. In fact, I'm trying to find any small metal washers we may have lying around that would contribute to the weight, thus making the RNC pay more for my survey. :-)

HAHA I laughed so hard at "Your party blows". Also, at "No, I favor electing liberal democrats over the next 10 years".

:-) Every survey we get from them is worded this way, too- it's so dramatic and polarizing and anti-Democrats. It's hilarious.

I get surveys from the DNC (even though I'm registered as an Independent), because I live in white middle-class suburbia in Massachusetts and not Georgia ... and actually, quite disappointingly, their surveys have the same kind of polarising, leading questions. They don't, however, have a question at the end with the option of 'No, I favour electing conservative Republicans over the next 10 years'. They just have 'Yes, I will send you money, please send me a tote bag', 'Yes, I will send you money, please do not send me a tote bag so the DNC doesn't spend as much and can put more money towards reaching its goals', and 'No, I will not be sending money at this time'. I don't think they expect that anyone would check a 'No, I favour electing conservative Republicans over the next 10 years' box, and hopefully they recognise how completely stupid it sounds.

Next time I get something from the DNC, I should scan it so you can see.
