Chocolate chip cookies!

Since I have this new 5 quart, 325 watt KitchenAid stand mixer, I *have* to put it to good use. This is forcing me to not only make more cookies and things that I already know how to make, but I'm also going to branch out and make things I've never made before. Dustin is my test subject to see if the product is good. If it is, I'll distribute said product to his coworkers, my coworkers, and my family.

However, to break in my KitchenAid stand mixer, tonight I went with an old favorite: Chocolate Chip Cookies. I made a double batch so I have plenty to share with friends. :-)

Look at the pretty box!

The ingrediants.

The mixer all pretty.

The dry ingrediants all mixed together.

Then I added in the wet ingrediants (the eggs, vanilla, and milk).

All mixed together!

Now to add the last ingrediant: The chocolate chips!

Scooping them out onto pans.

The finished product!

Hugging my new friend

Ta da!

Hmmm....

I should move closer to you. I am fiercely loyal to Matthais's chocolate chip cookies, but I have an open mind!

Yes, you should. And we can make yummy stuff together!

[identity profile] riscana.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, this makes me hungry! The cookies look yummmmm!

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm, I wonder if I could send cookies across the world to you... :-)

[identity profile] riscana.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Well, in theory you COULD, but they'd probably be a bit stale by the time they got here. I think it would take about a week and a half in the mail... haha

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. That would be awhile. *sigh* Well, next time you're in the US, I'll ship them to you! ;-)

Ah, yours is a bowl-lift model. Mine's an Artisan with the head-tilt.

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I like the bowl lift better, I think. My mom has an Artisan with the head tilt, but I've always hated it because you have to make sure the head is locked before you lift it by the head, and I forget and then the mixer nearly drops out of my arms. Of course, her's is a 1970s model that's an ugly mustard yellow color, so the head tilt ones are probably a lot nicer now. :-)

AHHHHHHHH I WANT ONE.
I want both your mixer AND a cookie. Mmm, I bet Lizzie cookies are the shit.

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
lol, don't worry, I'm sure I'll be sending goodies to all my friends. :-)

I hear stand mixers make Great pie crusts :)

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 11:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'll have to make some pies, then!

Those things are soooo much fun. Did you know they have them in all sorts of colours too? Red, pink, orange... I'm definitely the type of person they market that stuff to, I'm just so easily entertained! :D

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-28 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yup! I'm boring, though, I love the white one. Since we don't know what our kitchen colors will be once we get a house, it's good to stick to basic, plain white. And if I want to dress it up, I can put cow spots or flames on it. lol

Haha. You're too funny and cute. I love the added pics for excitement. I want some cookies! :)

Come and work with me! We never get homemade treats :(

Can I lick the bowl? :)

Also I like your kitchen! Is that a microwave above the oven?

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Ha ha, yes, you can lick the bowl! I gave the beater attachment to Dustin for him to lick (oh, that sounds so dirty!) but he didn't want it. He's weird and doesn't like cookie dough. Sometimes I wonder how we ever ended up married. lol

Yep, that's a microwave above the oven. It's a nice kitchen in our apartment, I just wish we had more cabinets. We don't have many cabinets so a lot of the wedding gifts we got (pots, pans, and beautiful bowls) have to stay in a wardrobe in another room unless I'm actively using them. I can't wait until we get a big house and I have more cabinets!

Yummy looking. :)

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! :-) I love your icon!

Thanks. :)

Ok so i had started a comment and the cat ate it... honestly!! Spikey stepped on the keyboard. Anyway, i put my kitchenaid mixer to good use last night cause this morning i had to bring breakfast for work.

can i have some cookies too?

[identity profile] lizzie.livejournal.com 2007-09-29 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ha ha. Silly Spikey!

What did you make with your KitchenAid mixer?

I'm going to have to test out this theory of mailing cookies to people. I'm not sure how long the cookies will stay fresh, so I'll have to mail them to people who live nearby first, and if they make it through the mail okay, then I'll mail them to people further away, like you! I'd just hate to send you stale, crumbled cookies!
